Stabilise Your Sloping Gravel Driveway

How to prevent gravel moving on a sloping driveway.

Nidagravel gravel stabilisation grids are the original and best system for stabilising loose gravel on a sloping gravel driveway. Nidagravel honeycomb grids were developed over 25 years ago by Nidaplast, the world leaders in gravel stabilisation systems and hold the gravel in place within a sheet or grid of honeycomb cells. Nidagravel 130 and Nidagravel 140 gravel stabilisers or driveway grids are extremely effective at holding the gravel in place on sloping driveways or driveways with a gradient. They prevent gravel working its way down the slope to the bottom of the driveway where it spills out into the road which then requires lots of maintenance and sweeping to keep clean and tidy. There is very low gravel migration with Nidagravel gravel reinforcement grids which solves this problem. We supply large-format honeycomb gravel grids which make installation quick and easy to complete. Our drive grids are also lightweight which means moving them around and handling them on-site is also easy to do.

So how does Nidagravel work and why is it so effective?

Each sheet of Nidagravel 130 and 140 contains about one thousand individual hexagonal cells. Each cell is 49mm in diameter. The gravel is held in place within each cell which prevents the gravel from moving. On the underside of each gravel grid, a membrane is attached during production using a hot glue process so that it is firmly attached. This prevents any gravel from moving under the sheets and inhibits any weed growth. The gravel grids are then covered with a 20-25mm covering of gravel to hide the grids and this surface layer of gravel sits top of and interlocks with the gravel held in the cells which ensures very low movement of gravel.

This Nidagravel system effectively prevents the movement of gravel on a sloping driveway and can be used on any slope and camber of driveway upto approximately 15% (1:6.67) without any problem. In addition to this, Nidagravel grids are designed to be flexible and this enables the grids to follow the contours of the ground, slope, or sub-base of the driveway.
